How to - mark a pattern with tailor's tacks - zipper installation - Call 516 279 4076
TAILOR'S TACKS
To make tailor's tacks, use a long thread, doubled, without a knot. At point to be marked, take a small stitch through pattern and both layers of fabric. Draw up, leaving a 1" or more end. Take another stitch at the same point, leaving a loop of 1" or more, as shown in 1st picture. Cut thread leaving a 1" end as shown in 2nd picture. When all points are marked, remove pattern. Gently seperate the layers of fabric as far as loops will allow, and cut through threads, as shown in 3rd picture. Kuttle tufts of thread remain as marks in each fabric layer.
